MEET RACHEL

Rachel is a New York City-based certified Pilates instructor with 8+ years of teaching experience. Though classically trained, she brings an incredibly diverse background to her work that includes education and instruction in aerial pole dance, barre, bodybuilding, strength training, and high intensity interval training. These fitness modalities have coalesced to influence what she describes as her “exceptionally modern, athletically minded” approach to Pilates.

Rooted in the idea that the human body is fabulously and inevitably dynamic, Rachel believes each of us wakes up each day with a different kinesthetic experience - with different aches, pains, energy and endurance. To that end she maintains a strong emphasis on form and alignment while encouraging her clients to increase the awareness of their internal experience, and adjust accordingly. By staying closely attuned to client feedback, she specifically and individually works with clients to discover ways to increase strength and mobility safely over time.

A self-described “rebel”, Rachel is dismissive of the one-size-fits-all mindset of traditional Pilates, and prides herself on creative and challenging sequencing with a variety of modifications or advancements to respect personal limitations while keeping in mind goals for growth. At the end of the day she believes balance is the key to life - and most importantly, the key to longevity!

Rachel currently teaches Pilates privately and at Equinox Fitness clubs in Manhattan. She holds certifications in Pilates, PRO-Natal (pre and post) natal fitness and Personal Training with the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
